Day 1:  Casablanca - Mexico

Welcome to Mexico City Airport with our French speaking guide. Transfer to your centrally located hotel.

Check-in from 2:00 PM at REGENTE CITY *** in MEXICO CITY or SIMILAIRE

free day.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2:  Mexico City

American breakfast at the hotel then visit of the Zocalo, the immense square embellished by centuries-old arcades always animated by the crowd.Entrance to the Metropolitan Cathedral to enjoy the complex architecture and decoration: a mixture of Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical styles. Consider the majestic National Palace, the seat of government, with its facade adorned with beautiful wrought-iron balconies.

Continue through Calle Madero to admire the magnificent 19th century buildings: the headquarters of the Banco Nacional de Mexico, the Iturbide Palace and the famous “Casa de los Azulejos” which keeps memories of Emiliano Zapata and the revolution Mexican.

Along the way, stop at the Basilica of Guadalupe, the most important religious sanctuary in contemporary Mexico. This modern basilica was built to replace the Spanish construction of the 7th century, which, although still present, sinks inexorably into the marshy basement. The devotion to the cult of the “black virgin of Guadalupe” is such that Mexicans themselves call themselves “Guadalupanos” before being Catholics. On a daily basis, this devotion is expressed through long knees marches to the entrance to the basilica. The atmosphere is unique, full of fervor and filled with prayers.

Buffet lunch in a restaurant near the site. Possibility of tasting Nopal, a cactus widely used in Mexican cuisine. Traditional musical entertainment.

Discovery of Teotihuacan, the fascinating "city of the gods" of gigantic dimensions. Crossing the Citadel to admire the pyramids of the Sun, the largest construction of this type on the American continent and that of the Moon, surrounded by small pyramid constructions. End of visit to the Jaguars Palace and the Quetzal-Papillon.

Before leaving Teotihuacan, taste a local drink, pulque, made from cacti and visit an obsidian-cut workshop, the shiny black volcanic stone widely used by pre-Columbian civilizations.

Back to Mexico.

Visit of the main rooms of the National Museum of Anthropology with the treasures of the indigenous civilizations that forged Mexican culture.

Day 3:  Mexico City - Tuxtla Gutierrez / Chiapa de Corzo (by flight) - San Cristobal de las Casas (1h30 drive)

American breakfast at the hotel.

Arrival and transfer to Chiapa de Corzo (change of transport and guide)

Motor boat trip in the Cañón del Sumidero, a natural site where very high walls, covered with vegetation, drop steeply into the calm waters of a winding stream forming a fabulous parade of unforgettable landscapes. Before lunch, passengers will take a ride in a “combi”, a kind of collective taxi.

Lunch at a local restaurant in Chiapa de Corzo. It will be served the "cochito" in the oven (regional pork dish with spice sauce, garlic and peppers)

Road to San Cristobal de las Casas.

Setup and stay the night at the CATEDRAL *** hotel in San Cristobal or SIMILAIRE

Day 4:  San Cristobal de las Casas

American breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, discover the Indian market of San Cristobal where a dense crowd wears the traditional costumes of the different communities of the region. Part of the market is devoted to medicinal and magical plants.

Around the Zocalo, visit the Cathedral (16th century) and the Temple of Santo Domingo, beautiful examples of colonial and baroque architecture.

Departure to visit the small village of San Juan Chamula with centuries-old mystical traditions, located in the heart of Chiapas, an Indian region that keeps the rites and prayers of shamans intact.

Lunch at the resident

Afternoon free for a stroll in this city steeped in folk beliefs and traditions.

The exclusive

Depending on the group schedule, participants can attend the Church of Santo Domingo to witness the fervor of the people of San Cristobal, especially the indigenous people, at one of the most beautiful temples in Mexico.

Day 5:  San Cristobal de las Casas - Cascadas de Agua Azul (3:30 drive) - Cascadas de Agua Azul - Palenque (1 hour 30 drive)

Early departure for Agua Azul Falls.

Due to the regular obstructions (demonstrations) observed between San Cristobal and Agua Azul/ Palenque, the route taken today is subject to change, without going through Agua Azul Falls. In this case (force majeure) the itinerary will be changed and then the visit to Agua Azul Falls on day 9 will be replaced by a visit to Cenote Ikil with time for swimming.

Day 6:  Palenque - Campeche (5h, 355km)

Visit of the most famous of the Mayan cities: Palenque. The majority of the monuments are hidden in the thick vegetation which gives a mysterious aspect to the visit of this Mayan city that shone during the 7th century, under the reign of Pakal.

THE EXCLUSIVE

Walk through the jungle to visit the “Queen's Bath” waterfall. According to legend, this waterfall was used exclusively by the Queen of Palenque.

Day 7:  Campeche - Uxmal (2h30 - 161km) - Uxmal - Merida (1h30 - 79km)

Lunch will be served in a restaurant run by the Maya community in the village of Muna.

You will taste the chicken pibil (chicken cooked with spices in a traditional oven).

Explore the UNESCO-listed Uxmal archaeological site.The architectural style called Puuc is of great finesse and elegance. The horizontal buildings decorated with mosaics such as the Governor's Palace meet imposing and rounded pyramids like that of the Soothsayer.

Continue to Merida, the capital of Yucatan.

On arrival, check in and overnight at the RESIDENCIAL *** hotel in Merida or similar.

Day 8:  Merida - Chichen Itza - Cancun (3 x 54 - 323 km)

Wander through the historic center of Mérida and contemplate the colonial and republican buildings For which this very rich site became famous thanks to the exploitation of sisal.

The walkway through Independence Square is always animated by musical groups during the weekends.

 continue to Chichen Itza, the most famous site of the Mayan civilization.

Lunch buffet in a restaurant with Garana dance show.

Visit the site of Chichen Itza, the emblematic city of the Mayan people. The monuments erected near the huge Cenote (natural water well) give a perfect idea of Mayan life and culture. Consider the ball game, the Kukulkan pyramid, the temples and caracol as well as the astronomical observatory from which the Mayans tracked the rainy seasons, central to the cultivation of corn.

Day 9:  Cancun

Booking will not be considered as confirmed until receipt of: First deposit.

In case of total or partial cancellation of the above agreement:

-      From 60 to 45 days prior to group’s arrival, the client will pay 30% of the total amount of the cancelled services.

-      From 45 to 30 days prior to group’s arrival, the client will pay 45% of the total amount of the cancelled services.

-      From 30 to 15 days prior to group’s arrival, the client will pay 60% of the total amount of the cancelled services.

-      From 14 days to the arrival day, the client will pay full rooms & services charges for full period.

Standard Check-in time of hotels in Morocco is generally 3h00 PM. Check-out 12h00 PM.
